Uniform CPA Examination: Information Systems and Controls (ISC) Training
Uniform CPA Examination - Information Systems and Controls (ISC) Discipline Exam (ISC Discipline)
Week 1: You will learn the Standards, Principles, and Rules for auditing various configurations of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) deployment models and their derivative services such as: Security-as-a-Service, Backup-as-a-Service, NetworkMonitoring-as-a-Service, Desktop-as-a-Service, Etc. The first week also covers mainframe, client/server. web-based and Internet-based computing environments, which the AICPA Trust Criteria are design for.
Week 2: You will learn the Testing Strategy, Testing Testing Procedures, and Test Cases for testing at the SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS levels of the CLOUD architecture. You will have hands-on experience developing Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and System Flow Diagrams (SFD) for purposes of designing and documenting test cases. You will learn how to map system and application functions to test cases and test scenarios to ensure full test coverage under various IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS deployment scenarios.
Week 3: You will learn the Techniques, Platforms, and Tools for testing at the SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS levels of the CLOUD architecture. You will have hands-on experience auditing in the prevailing CLOUD, AI, Edge Computing, Business Network, and Transaction Network environments.
Week 4: You will learn how to conduct a hypothetical SOC 1 engagement "hands-on" on one of the prevailing corporate computing platform.
Week 5: You will learn how to conduct a hypothetical SOC 2 engagement "hands-on" on one of the prevailing corporate computing platform.
Week 6: You will learn how to conduct a hypothetical SOC 3 engagement "hands-on" on one of the prevailing corporate computing platform.
Week 7: As depicted in the figure below, we put the preceding learning objectives into perspectives: Technology, Regulations, Auditing, Inspection, and Auditing Oversight . So in Weeks 3-6, we will leverage the hands-on SOC learning experiences as input to this final module.

- The IT auditing standards that are applicable to SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 engagements extend far beyond the scope of Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICFR), which Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) auditing standards requires.
- You will learn the difference between the various IT auditing standards as they relate to SOC, SOX and ICFR regulatory requirements and how to streamline the audit process to achieve the objectives of the respective standards without duplication of efforts.
